The Galapagos Islands

So... what to say about the Galapagos. Definitely the most interesting, amazing, different place I've ever been. We flew from Quito via Quayaquil which takes about 3 hours (it's a bit like a bus - you stop at Quayaquil and some people get off and more people get on!) and landed on the island of Baltra which is tiny and uninhabited. As soon as you get to the dock there are sealions hanging out waiting to greet you, in fact they sit on the benches so there's no room for people. Our boat was called the Sagitta and had sails. I was going to write more there but realised I had no idea what I was talking about! It was a boat and there's a website if you want more info :)

We were in a group of 13: us, 2 other brits, 2 canadians and 7 americans. The boat had a crew of 8 and our guide (Desiree) was originally from Quayaquil but has lived on the islands for over 20 years. Our cabin was small but had an ensuite bathroom and hot water!

Am struggling to make this pretty with the text and photos so think I will just publish it so some photos actually get put up!
